Waking Dream Opening Night
Join us at Barrio Pop Studio for the opening of Waking Dream, a group exhibition of Texas artists exploring memory, identity, and home.
Curated by Carlos Moreno and Niru Kumar, the show brings together painting, cyanotype, ceramics, fiber, and printmaking, alongside multisensory and immersive installations. Drawing on neuroaesthetics, the science of how the brain responds to art, and on the writings of Carl Jung and Eckhart Tolle, the exhibition takes waking dreams as its starting point. Through material inquiry and conceptual experimentation, each artist works in the space between lived experience and the dreamlike, using unexpected materials, shifted proportions, and familiar symbols to turn everyday objects into meditations on memory and belonging. Together, the works show how contemporary art can challenge assumptions, build connection, and imagine new possibilities.
Come spend the evening with the work, meet the artists, and join the conversation. Original artworks will be available for purchase.
Art to Table Supper Club
Art to Table brings guests together for an intimate, family-style meal surrounded by contemporary art. Hosted by Carlos Moreno, founder of Barrio Pop Studio, and chef Erik Sarabia, each evening connects food, art, and conversation around a shared table.
Presented within Waking Dream, the supper club extends the exhibition's exploration of memory, identity, and creative placemaking. Guests spend time with the artwork, share dishes, and consider how familiar flavors and images call up personal associations.
With just 10 seats each evening, Art to Table offers a chance to slow down, meet someone new, and experience the exhibition through a shared meal.
As a fundraiser, all proceeds from ticket sales will support Barrio Pop Studio's public programs.
