Scent Fair is a curatorial exhibition program by Barrio Pop Studio dedicated to scent as a primary medium within contemporary art and craft.
Launched on November 2, 2025, in alignment with Día de los Muertos, the program explores how scent operates as memory, material, and cultural language.
Elemental — Inaugural Exhibition
The first edition, Elemental, was structured through four forms: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.
Presented at Future Front House in East Austin’s African American Cultural District, the exhibition brought together artists working across olfactory installation, botanical materials, and expanded craft practices.
Through scent, material, and space, Elemental invited audiences to move through the exhibition as an experience—one shaped by memory, ritual, and environment.
The Experience
Scent Fair is designed as a space for encounter.

Interdisciplinary programming
Developed in collaboration with artists and partners, each edition creates opportunities to engage with scent beyond the visual—through presence, reflection, and shared experience.
Looking Ahead
Scent Fair Austin continues to evolve as a platform for artists, makers, and collaborators working at the intersection of scent, art, and culture.
